Well now we see where the lack of drama comes from. Outside of Armwood and Jesuit bookends, the 6A title stayed in Dade County with Central winning six times, Northwestern winning twice and Carol City winning in 2016. Armwood's title was vacated hence the asterisk. Had Central won it would have been vacated as well, so by the FHSAA's standards 2011 6A football didn't happen.
Region 1 in Class 6A always had a little interest to it, but usually that team was going to meet its fate against Armwood. Unfortunately for Armwood, it just couldn't beat the Miami schools. Naples and Mainland had the same problem. I rememeber in 2015 -- the fifth-straight Armwood vs. Central final, the Central fans motto was to beat Armwood until they stopped showing up. Eventually Armwood stopped showing up in the finals.
