 Keeping up with the Final Fours.

2012: University Christian (c), Warner Christian (2), Dade Christian, First Baptist 

2013: Victory Christian, North Florida Christian (2), Champagnat (c), Indian Rocks Christian

2014: Victory Christian (c) (2), North Florida Christian (3), Indian Rocks Christian (2), Glades Day 19 (2)

2015: University Christian (c) (2), Victory Christian (3), Cambridge, First Baptist (2)

2016: University Christian (c) (3), Victory Christian (4), Champagnat (2), Northside Christian

2017: University Christian (4), Victory Christian (5); Champagnat (c) (3), Cambridge (2)

2018: North Florida Christian (c) (4), Victory Christian (6), Champagnat (4), Admiral Farragut (2)

2019: Victory Christian (7), University Christian (5), Champagnat (c) (5), Seffner Christian

2020: University Christian (6), Foundation Academy 14, Champagnat (c) (6) Seffner Christian (2)

2021: Trinity Christian (c), Orlando Christian Prep, Champagnat (7), First Baptist (3). 

Champagnat had a great run, but that school has since shut down. Victory Christian had a really nice run under Tommy Lewis. His son, Caleb Lewis, had one of the great quarterback performances in their 2014 championship season. I think there were only 2-3 non-parochial or private schools in this classification.

In a perfect world I would have combined the privates in 2A and 3A. As we will see with the 3A Final Fours, there was a tad bit of overlap.

By this point most of you know the rules, but things changed a little bit. Instead of putting out a team of 46 (23 on each side of the ball), we've just got 24 players -- 12 on offense and 12 on defense.  The Group of Five All-Florida HS Team MIGHT be here in a few days. 2021 Transfer Portal Class Breakdown (Florida State Seminoles)

One of the many offseason projects I will be working on is a breakdown on transfer portal classes two years in the rear.  In 2021 the transfer portal was still a bit of a new thing and coming out of pandemic there were a lot of moving parts in college football, so I don't think student-athletes and coaches realized the true power of the portal.  Two years out allowed the full impact of a transfer class to be felt. More transfers aren't going to be at their new program for more than two years without making some sort of a mark.  Anyway first team up is FSU. 2021 Transfer Portal Class Breakdown (FIU Golden Panthers)

Butch Davis came out the gate pretty strong at FIU. He was 23-14 with three bowl appearances in his first three seasons. Then the pandemic came and he lost 16 of his final 17 games. FIU was fading a tad before COVID-19, so maybe Davis had already peaked. I am curious how he could have managed the portal if he knew how it was going to work. It's an interesting "what if" to think about.
